Cuttack is the Silver city of Orissa and its famous Baliyatra is one of the testimony to the cultural and social life trends . Like every year on the eve of Kartik Purnima day starts the Baliyatra Festival - the Orissa Trade Fare, where more than 1500 Stalls present there products for the 7 – 9 days event at the Gadagadiya Grounds , near Barabati Fort in Cuttack, beside the river Mahanadi. 2011 Baliyatra also brings lot more art and crafts, from all over India, for the visitors.

The Baliyatra Ground is buzzing with nearly 300+ Art and Crafts Products strats from the Clay Pot, Clay Toys, Clay Creatives, The Teracotta Paintings of Bengal, the Bamboo creative designs, the Plastic floral designs, the Jute Bags and Jute storage, the Hand-loom designs with Kanjiwaram Saree, Sambalpuri Saree, The Silver Filgiri Work, the Stone Carving Designs and many more.

From 12th December 2010 to 14th December 2010 Dhauli Mahotsav Festival, at Dhauliagiri hills orissa is a splendid stage show to watch. From the last two year I was regular to this extravaganza, and a do not miss it event for its enchanting Environment beauty and the Ambience at the back drop of Dhauli Shanti Stupa.
Dhauli Peace Pagoda, as it stands tall with the white stone carving of Lord Buddha, with the enigmatic silence, is regarded as the iconic place , where King Ashoka converted from the barbaric king to the Peace loving Person.
Dhauli Festival is organised by the Orissa Dance Academy, Govt. Of Orissa Tourism Department and Konark  Natyua Mandap every Year from the year 2003. This Fistival is one of its kind in India which is open for the Public , to watch the Odissi Dance and there vibrations in an open Theatre majestically geled with the Dhauli hill Peace Pagoda.
