You have been into the Digital Era , since 1990's . Yes its true and the Digital India was more Brighter that Today.
You must be thinking that I am just Kidding . Yes your are Wrong Absolutely.
Think Of Indian Railway Digitization , 30 year Back (1987). It manages to Book 135 Crore Tickets on an Average per Year.
For the Last 30 Years there were no Banners (Spending Crores of Rupees to showcase Digital India word). We are using the Mighty Indian Railways Digital System since then,
We are Used to it. The Life line of India Goes on Serving Digital services , silently and diligently.
In late 1987, IR began using a computerized ticketing system. The system went online in 1995 to provide current information on status and availability. Computerized tickets can be booked between any two points in the country. Tickets may also be booked on the Internet and via mobile phones for an additional fee. -- Wikipedia
Think of the Scenario with 256 kbps - 512 Kbps Speed Network Line of Computers in Most of the Stations that manged to Book Tickets for Crores of People with a Complicated System of Reservation, Wait-listing, RAC, Seat Management etc.
Now Witness - Compare the Much Hyped "so called Digital India " with a 50 MBPS Speed network that the GST Network (15 Lakhs E-Filling Only in a Month against 30 years old Digital System -serving crores of passenger daily) and e-Waybill is facing for the Last 8 Months. Server Down , Not Responding ---etc are every day Digital Term now. With that the Govt had been Successful in Just Putting Banner in all Corner of the Country.
Is this the Digital India ??
We are just Seeing digital india is Spilling up .on banners only
